MeetOnTrack
vs
MeetScribe
Both advertise bot-free meeting capture. The important questions are which product you are installing, what source rights it provides, and where processing happens. MeetScribe, Meetily Community and Meetily PRO are not interchangeable products.
Choose MeetOnTrack if...
You want inspectable application source, retained local audio and live checks against selected working repositories. You accept a technical beta and its documented installation limits rather than assuming every source-tree feature has shipped.
Choose MeetScribe if...
You want the team summaries and follow-up integrations MeetScribe advertises. Trial the actual workflow before relying on the feature list.
At a glance
Marks summarize reviewed documentation, not quality scores. Not verified does not mean unavailable. Different approach is not a disadvantage. Important conditions stay visible; expand a cell for details.
| Criterion | ||
|---|---|---|
| Open source and licence | Supported MIT application source DetailsPublic application source under MIT. Inspect, modify and redistribute it subject to the licence and third-party notices. Open source does not mean every connected AI service is open source. | Not verified Upstream MIT is not a full-product source licence DetailsMeetScribe acknowledges its open-source foundation. Its service terms restrict reverse engineering; a source repository and licence for the complete MeetScribe product were not verified. Meetily's MIT licence is a separate upstream fact. |
| Bot or device capture | Supported No meeting bot DetailsCaptures microphone and system audio on the computer. No meeting bot needs to join the call. | Supported Bot-free capture advertised DetailsThe FAQ describes device-audio capture without a meeting bot, despite auto-join wording elsewhere on the homepage. |
| Platforms and installation | Limited / conditional Mac + Windows; different beta requirements DetailsSeparate Mac and Windows technical betas. Mac: Apple Silicon, macOS 15+. Windows: x64, Windows 11 24H2+. Requirements and package features differ. | Supported Mac and Windows downloads listed DetailsMac and Windows download links are offered. We have not installed or tested these packages. |
| Local processing and offline use | Limited / conditional Local transcription; external AI analysis DetailsAudio capture and speech recognition run locally. Codex analysis can send selected conversation and repository excerpts to its AI service. The published beta is not an end-to-end offline AI product. | Not verified Local-processing and privacy wording differ DetailsThe homepage says audio processing is local. The privacy policy describes audio streams processed and discarded, not permanently stored on servers. That wording leaves processing location unclear; fully offline operation is not established. |
| Can you keep the audio? | Supported Retained local audio DetailsMeeting recordings and transcript files are saved in the user directory. Local disk space and your backup policy determine retention. | Not verified Replayable audio archive not established DetailsThe privacy policy describes retained transcripts and summaries and non-permanent server audio. A replayable local audio archive is not established by that policy. |
| Context beyond the transcript | Different approach Selected local repositories and history DetailsRead-only Codex search over selected local Git checkouts, documents, source and history. A repository connection is not a licence to upload everything. | Different approach Calendar and productivity integrations advertised DetailsCalendar and productivity integrations are advertised. Search across local folders or Git history was not verified. |
| Help during the call | Supported Transcript, questions, risks and decisions DetailsNear-live transcript and questions, risks and decisions. Ask Codex to check a statement against the selected working context. | Supported Live transcript and action extraction advertised DetailsAdvertises live transcription and action extraction. Repository-grounded statement checking was not verified. |
| Languages and switching mid-call | Limited / conditional Depends on engine and installed build DetailsLocal ASR capabilities depend on the engine and build. Validate your language mix, accents and mid-call switches. New multilingual fixes in source are not automatically included in the pinned beta. | Not verified Language mix and switching not established DetailsA supported-language matrix and mid-call language-switching behavior were not verified in the reviewed pages. Test your language mix. |
| Who said what | Limited / conditional Attribution depends on capture and engine DetailsSpeaker separation where available, with attribution that needs review. No independently verified speaker-accuracy score is claimed here. | Supported Speaker detection advertised DetailsAdvertises speaker detection; we have not benchmarked its attribution accuracy. |
| Exports and connections | Limited / conditional Local reports; delivery needs setup DetailsLocal HTML/PDF reports. Optional delivery to Drive, email and Telegram requires configuration. Newer source features must be checked against the installed release. | Limited / conditional Export mentioned; formats not specified DetailsTerms allow data export before termination but do not enumerate formats. Verify the actual files and workflow you need. |
| Cost and dependencies | Different approach Open-source app; AI service costs separate DetailsMIT application source. Budget separately for Codex access and any paid services you choose. This is not a promise that future hosted offerings will be free. | Not verified Pricing and FAQ describe different plans DetailsPricing describes one Pro plan; the FAQ also describes a free plan. Confirm current allowances at signup. |
| Setup and rollout trade-off | Limited / conditional Technical beta; manual setup and OS permissions DetailsTechnical beta with prerequisites and OS permissions. The Mac package is not notarized, the Windows beta is unsigned, and automatic updates are not enabled in these pinned packages. | Different approach Account and subscription for certain features DetailsCertain features require an account and subscription. The terms disclaim guaranteed AI accuracy. No comparative installation, performance or compliance audit was performed for this article. |
MeetScribe is based on Meetily, but it is not Meetily
MeetScribe credits Zackriya Solutions' Meeting Minutes as its foundation; that repository now redirects to Meetily. The upstream repository has an MIT licence and documents local Whisper/Parakeet transcription, Ollama summaries and optional external AI providers. It describes PRO as a separate codebase. Those upstream capabilities and source rights do not establish the capabilities or licence of the complete MeetScribe distribution. MeetScribe's third-party notices are attribution, not a published full-product source grant.
Try this before switching
Install the exact candidate on your own OS. Test a short multilingual call, replay and export, then inspect processing destinations with external AI disabled. Ask the vendor to resolve its processing and plan descriptions before using sensitive recordings. Do not infer offline behavior from an upstream project or a marketing illustration.
Compare the package you can actually install
The pinned packages are Mac v0.1.9 and Windows v0.1.4. They have different requirements and limitations. The source tree can be newer than either package. Development previews on the homepage do not extend the public beta's feature scope.
Automatic multilingual recognition, model choices, update notifications and newer integrations must be checked against the exact installed build. We do not claim tested parity between operating systems, guaranteed speaker attribution, fully offline AI or enterprise compliance certification.
How this comparison was made
Published by AI Agent Labs, maker of MeetOnTrack. This is a vendor-authored comparison, not an independent accuracy benchmark. Competitor capabilities come from official product, help, pricing and policy pages, checked on 2026-10-19. We did not run comparative performance tests.
We use the same criteria for every product. An undocumented feature is marked unverified, not absent. Device capture, on-device speech recognition, cloud storage and cloud AI are separate questions. A free plan, public SDK or MCP endpoint is not an open-source licence for the whole application.
Check current plans on the product’s homepage. Plan limits and capture modes can change. Obtain the required participant consent regardless of whether a bot appears in the meeting.
